I felt that this was one nof the best stories about the gold rush. It covered the reason that young people met and traveled to calif. they traveled across the Ismiss of Panama. I never imagined how hard this was and then toget a shop to pick you up to get to california. There were 5 young men. one staided in San Francisco.The other four went to the gold fields. They tried gold mining ,almost died when the rainy season hit. No one other the one that stayed in S.F got rich. But they all found their netch. the story was riviting.Product details

Full of nineteenth century adventure and fun. Frontier justice, gold fever, Indian treachery, and always the happy endings. Fun and quick read.
Top notch book, historical, etc with all the nuance of the age and historical perspective written in the language of the time. Highly recommended!
I like old time adventure stories and this wasn't bad, its a nice tour of Italian Bar in the first year of the gold rush.
